vivo X500 Ultra Expected to Launch in Early 2024

Tipster Digital Chat Station has confirmed that the vivo X500 Ultra is still on schedule for a launch in March or April 2024 in China. This news comes amid speculation regarding the fate of other high-end smartphones, such as the Oppo Find X10 Ultra and Xiaomi 18 Ultra, both of which are reportedly on hold or canceled.
Despite these cancellations, vivo’s VP of Product had previously assured that the X500 Ultra would debut in early 2024. Digital Chat Station reiterated this timeframe, suggesting that the X500 Ultra may be the only Ultra phone in its category.
Additionally, the tipster indicated that the X500 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. The vivo executive who disclosed the launch timeframe also mentioned that the smartphone would feature a significant improvement in camera performance compared to the X500 Pro Max.
While vivo has not revealed further details about the X500 Ultra, rumors suggest it will include a 6.85-inch 144Hz 2K LTPO AMOLED display with an embedded ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a 50MP primary camera, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. The battery capacity is expected to range between 7,000 mAh and 8,000 mAh.
After its initial launch in China, the vivo X500 Ultra is also anticipated to be available internationally, following the trend set by the vivo X300 Ultra, which was the first Ultra smartphone from vivo to launch outside of China.
