Starshield Service Restored for Ukrainian Military Following Restrictions

25 October 2026 1 min read هدهد تك | Hudhud Tech

SpaceX has seemingly restored normal operations for the Ukrainian military’s Starshield, the military-grade version of its Starlink internet service. This development follows a 10-day period during which Ukrainian drones experienced connectivity issues, particularly when flying at speeds of around 100 miles per hour.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Evgeniy Khmara confirmed to reporters that Starshield appears to be functioning normally again, although the military is still conducting tests and has not received an explanation for the previous restrictions.

Reports indicate that President Donald Trump contacted SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday, urging him to restore Starshield service. Both Trump and Musk have been critical of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with Musk recently stating on social media, “Zelensky has gone too far.”

Previously, it was reported that Musk ordered SpaceX to throttle Ukraine’s Starlink access, although some sources suggested he discussed this action with the Trump administration beforehand. Musk claimed that Ukraine had violated Starlink’s terms of service by using it for offensive drone strikes.

Musk emphasized the importance of Starlink for Ukraine, stating, “Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.”
