OpenAI Doubles Usage Limits on Pro Plans Amidst Competitive Landscape

30 October 2026 1 min read هدهد تك | Hudhud Tech

OpenAI has doubled the usage limits for its paid plans, specifically the Pro 100 and Pro 500 tiers, which will now offer twice the previous quotas. The Pro 200 plan also saw its quota doubled after user feedback led to the reversal of a planned reduction. The Plus plan remains unchanged.

New subscriptions will automatically include these updated quotas, and existing customers will receive the changes without needing to take any action. However, OpenAI clarified that doubling the quota does not necessarily equate to twice as many completed tasks, as usage can vary based on model, task type, and settings.

The expanded limits for the new “Dots” feature will remain in effect, although usage for Dots is tracked separately from the other plans. OpenAI aims to continue improving its models and efficiency to enhance usable capacity.

Recently, OpenAI introduced its 6.1 models, Terra and Sol, which are designed to be more efficient while matching or exceeding the performance of their predecessors. This update comes as Anthropic prepares for its initial public offering (IPO), intensifying the competition between the two companies for dominance in the B2B AI sector.
