Barcelona Supercomputing Center Empowers Startups Through AI Factory Accelerator Programme

20 October 2026 2 min read هدهد تك | Hudhud Tech

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) has launched its AI Factory Accelerator Programme, which is now fully operational after a successful pilot phase. This initiative offers startups access to sovereign computing resources, technical support, and training aimed at fostering innovation across multiple industries.

Many participating startups are also members of the NVIDIA Inception program, which supports cutting-edge startups. As of October 19, access to select BSC AI Factory services is available through the NVIDIA Inception portal.

NVIDIA Inception enhances the BSC AI Factory Accelerator Programme by providing members with training from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, business mentoring, venture capital connections, and additional resources.

The BSC’s MareNostrum 5, a supercomputing infrastructure powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing, will soon expand to deliver enhanced supercomputing access through the BSC AI Factory and other AI factories across Europe. Since its launch in April 2025, the BSC AI Factory has provided over 800 services to both private and public sector clients.

During a recent demo day, three Inception members were recognized as AI Champions of the BSC AI Factory Accelerator Programme:

  • Qatium has developed a water-network platform utilized by over 250 utilities in 16 countries. Its Neural Water Intelligence technology, powered by proprietary AI models trained on MareNostrum 5, aids water utilities in making informed operational decisions.
  • OneCareAI, a research spin-off from BSC, has created technology using NVIDIA NIM microservices to detect signs of hidden atrial fibrillation in normal ECGs, helping clinicians identify patients at risk of stroke.
  • Avatia has built a voice-first, multi-agent system that supports pharmaceutical sales representatives and provides doctors with curated information about medications, facilitating timely treatment for patients.

Other startups in the BSC AI Factory include Agrikola AI, Elna Health, Lokutor, Montevive AI, Oppy, Pack2Earth, and Up2Smart, which focus on areas such as precision agriculture, medical imaging, speech services, enterprise security, and sustainable packaging.

This diverse cohort illustrates the potential of advanced intelligence to unlock solutions for various challenges, such as preventing strokes, detecting breast cancer subtypes, and replacing petroleum-based plastics with compostable materials.
